More like the sweet five, and Nick. Let’s dive into this final episode before hometowns! The Bachelorette S10, Week 7 Review.
Nick, The Sicko
I think the one thing that I hate most about Nick, other than the way he strategizes and is so sure of himself, is his smile. Not only does he look like could be the sixth member of One Direction with that crooked grill, but he grins and bares it constantly. It doesn’t feel like the smile you would have when you’re falling in love with the girl of your dreams. Instead, Nick has this smile that just screams, “I’m gonna chop you up into little pieces and enjoy it so much.” As much as I wouldn’t ever wish this outcome on my least favorite Bachelorette (that would be Emily Maynard), I could see Nick leading Andi on only to dump her during the finale or after a romp in the Fantasy Suite. Anyone remember Bentley from Ashley’s season? Haha, now I’m the one who has watched too many episodes of this show! In the hometown promos we do see him tell his mom that he’s falling for Andi, so unless he’s a total sociopath that can tell a bold-faced lie to his own mother and actually make her believe him, he might just be a douchebag falling in love with an awesome girl.
You Go, Farmer
I literally just had a conversation about how iconic and sexy Patrick Swayze (may he rest in peace) will always be, and then Chris and Andi have their little pottery session! I know that Ghost has been parodied more than any other romantic film, but I still love it. Can we get them to do the Dirty Dancing lift next, please? The promos kind of ruined him for me though. I’ve expressed my doubts in the past about how Chris and Andi could possibly work if they both want to continue the careers that they’ve previously chosen, and I wholeheartedly agree with Chris’ mom (I assume) that when you love someone, you just find a way. I myself am a homemaker, which is something I never envisioned I would become until I met my husband and we had to figure out which one of us would be able to finish our schooling in very exclusive, demanding programs only available in different states. Obviously, we chose his career over mine. I’m not saying that that’s always the best decision in every circumstance, but if Olivia Pope can see herself in a future that involves becoming the mayor’s wife and making jam, I think Andi can as well. Maybe Chris isn’t the one though.
It definitely sucks saying goodbye to one of my favorites, Brian, but I’m definitely rooting for Josh now. He absolutely gave Andi the confidence in their relationship that was necessary for a hometown date, but is it enough? Logistically, the fact that they both currently live in Atlanta will make it incredibly easy for them to pursue a romance after the show, and I actually think it’s kind of adorable and fateful that Andi has lived in Georgia all these years and searched for love, only to find Josh on the show instead of in her hometown. What are the odds? I would love for Andi to give the final rose to Josh, but Nick is still in the way. Unless Nick breaks Andi’s heart by removing himself from the competition (“for lack of a better word”) or reveals some sort of deal-breaker before the finale, I predict that she’ll end up with our epic villain. Chris will probably be sent home next week after Andi realizes that she can’t have a life with him in Iowa and still be an attorney. Since he was Andi’s most attractive suitor after the first night, Marcus will make it to the Fantasy Suite, but his over-eager feelings for Andi will turn her off. Picking Josh over Nick would be a dream come true, but I just don’t see it happening. Luckily, if Andi rejects Josh, he (or Chris) would make a great Bachelor next season.
