The Bachelorette Season 11 “Week Nine” Review; Are We Going Bowling?

A Quick Ride

Is it just me, or are Kaitlyn’s mother and sister the most annoying people you have ever seen? Maybe they’re actually like that, since Kaitlyn is pretty boisterous herself, but it felt like her sister was cheesing it up even more for the cameras. Their reactions to everything were just ridiculous!

Someone came back from another season and he’s one of the final two…

NOOOOO! OHMYGOSH! WHATTHEHECK! BLAH BLAH BLAH

Yes, Nick made it farther on this season than any other late arrivals we’ve seen in the past, from Kacey Boguskie being put in the friend zone by Sean after a few episodes, to Chris Bukowski nearly refusing to leave during Andi’s premiere, but it’s not that big of a deal! What I found odd is that Kaitlyn’s sister claimed to be a fan of Nick’s since he was on Andi’s season, which basically translates to her having a crush on him. Thank goodness Kaitlyn didn’t pick him, but maybe he has a shot at another Bristowe now!

Both Nick and Shawn’s final dates with Kaitlyn were about as uncomfortable to watch as Ian getting down on his knees to beg forgiveness of Kaitlyn and his fellow contestants last week. Never before have I seen so much tension following both contestants meeting a Bachelor(ette)’s family. Usually the dates are lighthearted and the couple is relishing what could be their last time together before getting engaged or their last time together period. Nick’s date fell into that category much more than Shawn’s, but I think Kaitlyn was even more tense with Shawn because of all the jealousy and stress they had already been through. Between their three hotel room encounters (I am counting her hangout with Shawn and Ben H.) and finally her confession that she slept with Nick, their relationship has been far from easy. The fact that she had the courage to say something about how nervous she was on the date shows that she really cared about protecting Shawn’s feelings.

You Took Things

If taken out of context, this quote totally makes Kaitlyn sound like a kleptomaniac, but obviously Nick was referring to their multiple sexual encounters. Since they were wearing their microphones during their entire infamous date in Dublin, we know that they went all the way, leaving Nick with nothing to blab to America about during After the Final Rose. For all we know, they might have played Battleship all night in the Fantasy Suite because he didn’t say anything about it afterwards! Kidding aside, I’m surprised at how much more mature Nick was in handling yet another rejection. Maybe he’s trying to win back Andi’s heart now that she and Josh have split. Personally, I think she can do better. She can and she did!

Maybe it was because I had already seen the Snapchat spoiler, but the finale really wasn’t all that dramatic for me, at least not as shocking as Chris Harrison and US Weekly made it out to be. Nick actually got to meet Neil Lane this time, and Kaitlyn didn’t let him get down on one knee before rejecting him, a move we in Bachelor Nation like to call the Ben Flajnik. While humiliating, it can land you a chance at becoming the next Bachelor. Unfortunately for Nick, it looks like he’s used up all of his opportunities to find love on TV, so maybe that’s what he was trying to say Kaitlyn took from him. Did you see how wild the audience went for both Bens last week at The Men Tell All? Word has it that the two of them and Jared are in the running, but Jared clearly doesn’t have the support of the fans. I think both of them would be fantastic as the Bachelor. Ben H’s exit interview wasn’t very emotional, and Ben Z. has a more heartbreaking backstory with losing his mom, but Ben H. actually got a standing ovation from some of the ladies in the studio. They’re both incredibly handsome and genuine guys…I just hope we don’t have to start next season with the women picking their favorite.

For the Second Time

So many jokes can be made here, from this being Nick’s second time on the show, his second on-camera rejection, his second time proposing (he was engaged before Andi’s season), his second time having sex with Kaitlyn, et cetera, et cetera. However, Chris Harrison was referring to Kaitlyn being able to tell Shawn that he was The One…again! I feel like I say this every season, but I do think their love will last. Unlike most couples on the show that end the season in “vacation mode,” Kaitlyn and Shawn have already had enough adversity in their relationship to see how the other one reacts under emotional circumstances. Shawn went into watching the season prepared to laugh along as he watched Kaitlyn be wooed by men he already knew she would reject, and had no surprises coming when it came to her experience with Nick. They definitely had the same glow as other recent couples who have made it to the altar: JP & Ashley, Sean & Catherine, and Chris & Desiree. And since neither of them is very religious, that ups the chances of them letting Chris Harrison officiate their wedding on ABC!
