Revenge Season 4 Episode 7 “Ambush” Review; A Shocking Coincidence
Original Airdate – Nov, 9th, 2014.
In keeping with the show’s tradition, we were given a juicy flash-forward of Victoria collapsing on pavement, but this time it wasn’t a soapy, manipulative ploy after someone’s emotions. Though his daughter just came bursting through the door of their former home and revealed her true identity to him, Victoria’s accident will undoubtedly turn David’s heart back towards her instead of Emily’s.
I Thought it Was Time We Met
Were you as excited as I was for this father-daughter reunion? So it wasn’t the happy get together over tea that we were all hoping for, but after waiting this long I guess beggars can’t be choosers. At least the secret is finally out and they can try to rebuild their relationship. It won’t be easy, considering David lied about being tortured by Conrad for ten years and has now been caught spying on the woman he thought was his daughter in the Hamptons.
I’m Sure She’s Harmless
That’s what Daniel said about Emily Thorne, and look how their marriage turned out. As for Louise, my best guess is that she had a delusion of her mother right before locking Margaux in the steam shower. Did that scene seem familiar to you, Pretty Little Liars fans? Speaking of dear old mom, that’s whose photo she was replacing with Victoria’s in that creepy collage. Scared yet, Daniel?
The Truth is Not on Her Side
It seemed a little bit too convenient that Jack and Ben were the ones assigned to investigate Vince’s overdose, only to find that he had been hoarding newspaper clippings related to David’s case and a weapon that could have been used to kill Conrad. Was that there when Emily came to help Charlotte move the dead body or did Emily plant the knife after finding it in the beach house? It’s also handy that Jack is in the loop with Emily, which keeps him one step ahead of Ben in solving the case. That may or may not prove beneficial for David since he’s not exactly in Emily’s good graces after she discovered him hiding photos of Fauxmanda in his safety deposit box.
My Sister’s Brother is My Ex-Husband….
No, this isn’t an episode of Maury, it’s Revenge. My favorite part of Daniel and Emily’s exchange in the elevator was when she stepped on his shoulder to reach the ceiling. I found it very fitting, as she also used him as a stepping stone to destroy the Graysons from within. Now that he knows that Emily is actually Amanda Clarke, he isn’t at all interested in using that information for his own evil, which was strange considering he hired someone to track her for him. He simply wants to stay out of the feud between her and Victoria. I predict that he’ll change his tune once Emily gets a hold of something Daniel might want for himself.
What did you think of this week’s episode? Will Ben and Jack finally find Conrad’s killer? What has David been up to since he escaped from prison? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
